What a Night!
To Our Great Resort Poker League Family:
We hope that the New Year has started out great for all of you. We are genuinely excited about the cool things lined up for this year with our league and are grateful to each of you for supporting our events to the extent that you do. We feel fortunate to have the chance to be out at the games, at the best places on the Eastern Shore Beach Area, playing the exciting game of Texas Hold-Em, with wonderful people like you. This year is shaping up as our best year ever, thanks to you all.
In the future we will be using this front page of our site to keep you posted on all of the major events coming up with our league, so here goes!
1. MEGA TOURNAMENTS - We are excited to announce our February line-up of fun yet challenging Mega Tournaments. As you know, it is our desire to sponsor large tournaments where you can continue to hone your poker skills while trying to survive within a large field of players. We also upped the stakes for this cycle to include a high stakes tournament in June where the winner will be a awarded a substantial paid seat for a tournament with a prize pool of around $1M.
We have also come to realize how much fun these tournaments can be and we look forward to each one of them.
For example, the Heads Up Match that took place this past Saturday at Dirty Harry's was a truly legendary tournament with Jimmy Jones capturing 1st place after surviving the final heads up match with Barb Jerrell, who came in at a strong 2nd place. Rounding out the Top 10 of this challenging tournament were Paul Stockton, Rich Mills, Bruce Clutter, Linda Holcomb, Lee France, Len Hurd and Joe Giacoponneli.
We didn't stop there though as we came back with our regular Texas Hold-Em Main Event at Dirty Harry's, with Jim Sweed claiming 1st place after going heads up against Linda Clutter. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 of this challenging tournament were Fran Ogilvie, Mel Lewis, Joe Holcomb, Lee France, William Herbst, Pete Marshall and Kevin Heising.
So far, we now have 3 of our 16 seats filled for the June $1M Prize Pool Tournament:

2. RPL/DOVER DOWNS TOURNAMENTS - We are totally committed to having one tournament per month at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino for this year. We want our Venue Championship Winners to feel comfortable in planning on the right time to redeem their championship win and enjoy a getaway at this 4 star rated hotel and great casino poker room. We just had our inaugeral tournament of 2012 with 4 of our great RPL Players deciding to "chop the pot". Congratulations to Bruce Clutter, Carlene Williams, Deb Qualey and Roberta Goldfeder for their great play.

Please remember to reserve your seats early because this popular hotel is selling out for a lot of dates. If you are a Venue Championship Winner, just let us know of your interest in attending and we will take care of the rest for you, provided that you let us know early enough. 3. NEW RPL PLACES TO PLAY - We are totally committed to having many quality places for you to experience having an enjoy able evening out playing poker. We also work hard to make sure that our venues offer food and drink specials, gift certificates and have a comfortable atmosphere for you. We will soon be opening a new place on March 3rd in Berlin, MD. It is the historic Globe Theater at The Atlantic Hotel. We will be kicking off this awesome new venue with a Mardi Gras style Mega Tournament on Saturday, March 3rd, 1:00 p.m., then coming back the very next evening for our routine Sunday night game there, with a 7:00 start time. Can't wait to start play at The Globe, and we owe a very special thanks to our great friend John Fields for setting this up for us.
4. RPL CRUISE ALL SET FOR SAILING - Hi everyone, this note from our travel agents - Join RPL as we sail to the beautiful Bahamas Norfolk , VA
We plan to set sail from Norfolk, Virginia for our 6 day cruise to the Bahamas on May 15th. Making your arrangements for this cruise is easy.
From the travel side, our agents have been able to set aside some very low rates for us (as low as $499 for this 6 day cruise while they last). From the poker side, the poker games will be professionally run, and the fees will be extremely low, based only on the number of tournaments that you expect to participate in. Our per game poker fee will likely be below $7 per event, which will cover the cost of our own on board poker room with set-ups. If for example you and/or your travel partner plan on playing in the poker games, an advance fee of only $25 per person payable to RPL will be required one month prior to sailing so that our Manifest List can be provided to Carnival. If on the other hand you and your travel partner are not interested in playing in the poker games, there will be no fee required, just enjoy the trip.
